Residents of Russia massively stopped relaxing in Turkey this year. Specialists recorded a noticeable decrease in demand in the direction. This was reported on the website of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).

“During the three summer months, Russians made 2,149,484 trips to Turkey. This is 10 percent more than in the summer of 2021 (1.9 million), but the growth in the full sense of the word is “imaginary”: it was achieved only due to the two-thirds of June lost for tourism in 2021,” the tourism department said.

In addition, ATOR noted that since the beginning of this year, 37.8% fewer Russian tourists have come to Turkish resorts than in the same period in 2019. According to experts, such a drop is due to a reduction in air travel and an increase in ticket prices.
