Deputy head of the administration of the Kherson region Kirill Stremousov announced the beginning of the regrouping of the Russian army in the region to strike. He also assured that Ukrainian troops would not be able to take Kherson.

On October 5, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukrainian troops had occupied eight settlements in the Kherson region: Lyubimovka, Kreshchenivka, Zolotaya Balka, Belyaevka, Ukrainka, Bolshaya and Malaya Aleksandrovka, and Davydov Brod. A day earlier, at least five explosions thundered in Kherson. Presumably, the air defense system worked.

President Vladimir Putin today signed laws on the admission of new territories to Russia, including the Kherson region of Ukraine. According to the results of the referendum, 87.05% of the inhabitants of the region voted for joining Russia. However, the President of Ukraine and the leaders of Western countries consider its results fictitious, and Russia’s actions – occupation.

In early September, Ukrainian troops launched a counteroffensive in the Kharkiv region of Ukraine. On September 11, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the regrouping of troops on the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic. As a result, Russian troops almost completely left the Kharkiv region, part of which they had controlled since March.
