The issue of mobilization is not on the agenda in Belarus, because the power bloc of the republic is able to respond to threats, said Alexander Volfovich, State Secretary of the country’s Security Council.

“Mobilization is not about us, the people of Belarus and the country are mobilized anyway. And, of course, God forbid, we are ready to fight back with the forces and means that are intended for this: the power bloc, the peacetime personnel that today performs the tasks of defending their country and the constitutional order on their territory, ”said Volfovich (quote according to BelTA).

On September 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a partial mobilization in the country. Only those citizens who are currently in the reserve, and above all those who served in the Armed Forces, have certain military specialties and relevant experience, will be subject to conscription for military service. Later, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu stressed that the mobilization would not affect students and conscripts.

Putin’s decree has already been signed and published. According to the document, mobilization begins on September 21. Employees of military-industrial enterprises will be able to get a deferment. Contracts signed with military personnel will be valid until the end of the partial mobilization period. The only exceptions are cases of dismissal due to age, state of health and in connection with deprivation of liberty by a court verdict.
