Viktor Zavarzin, a member of the State Duma Committee on Defense, commented on the decision of the Ministry of Defense to dismiss the deputy head of the department, Dmitry Bulgakov. The deputy noted that the 67-year-old deputy minister could have been removed from office due to his age.

According to the parliamentarian, he knows Bulgakov very well, who “went through school, this is really a professional military man.” Zavarzin pointed out that the ex-deputy head of the department “did a lot of things, a lot on Syria.”

At the same time, the deputy urged to take the decision calmly, informs website of the radio station “Moscow speaking”. “There is a movement forward, the younger ones are put in. Now the situation is difficult,” the parliamentarian stressed.

Speaking about the appointment of Mikhail Mizintsev to this position, Zavarzin indicated that he also has experience, he is a military general.

Earlier on Saturday, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Dmitry Bulgakov dismissed from the post of deputy department in connection with the transition to another job. He was responsible for the logistics of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev, who previously held the post of head of the National Defense Control Center of the Russian Federation, was appointed to this position.
