Star antics - Style - Kommersant

Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks have come to an end. The most discussed were, of course, the outfits from the catwalks - as it should be in the framework of Fashion Weeks. However, special attention should be paid to the famous guests of the shows, who surprised the audience and critics no less.

It’s worth starting a conversation about star outfits from Milan, since the Italian Week was the first. Many guests, coming to the shows, try to impress the rest: to show off their sense of style or the boldness of the outfit. Let's leave aside the fact that professional stylists work on outfits, but even they sometimes miss. Especially when it's too bold a trend that doesn't suit a particular celebrity. For example, Robert Pattinson came to the Dior show in a fur coat and a skirt. Obviously, Brad Pitt's example from last year's Faster than a Bullet premiere inspired many stylists. However, Pitt is known for his "hippie" off-screen. Pattinson would still look more appropriate in a nice suit with skinny pants. A men's skirt is already a rather loud element of the wardrobe - you definitely shouldn't manage it with a sheepskin coat.

By the way, singer J Balvin also came to Dior wearing a skirt. However, in his case, the ensemble was appropriate: a thin turtleneck and a textured jacket in shades that echoed the skirt. Another risky outfit - Evan Mock at the Saint Laurent Paris show. Someone will say that this is an ode to sexuality and emancipation, someone will call it a kitsch greeting from the 2000s, and someone will say that fashion is primarily about freedom of expression. And all three will be right. Mock looked like he stepped off the Dolce & Gabbana runway. Mads Mikkelsen can safely be called the winner of star outfits in Milan: absolutely black layering, made up of impeccable things - such a bet could not but work.

In Paris, the show of Schiaparelli became the most discussed - immediately because of the two guests of the show. Most of the attention was focused on Kylie Jenner and her dress with a lion's head on the shoulder. It's good that the head was fake, but even this did not save Jenner from criticism in social networks. The model was accused of cruelty and hunting advertising, and subscribers considered the dress with a lion's head wild. It's funny that at the Schiaparelli show, the same dress appeared on the catwalk. Another (literally) bright guest of the show was the performer Doja Cat - she appeared in front of the cameras, covered in red paint and 30 thousand Swarovski crystals. A lot of memes appeared on the Internet that evening, and the image itself became one of the most discussed in social networks. In fairness, it should be noted that Doja Cat feels great about his audience and knows that he will “fly in” on social networks. So there is no doubt that this exit and the reaction to it were precisely planned.

As part of Paris Fashion Week, a Valentino show was also held - actress Anne Hathaway came to it in a leopard total look. The leopard (unfortunately or fortunately) will not leave the world trends in any way, but wearing the same tights and shoes with a leopard dress is not a matter of taste, but of its absence. Yes, there is a personal connection to leopard print in this statement, but such bright things need to be mixed with something more restrained. And in general, at least with something.

Celebrity exits will always be an important part of any event, but at Fashion Weeks they receive even more attention and criticism, because there is so little room for error. I wonder what fate will now befall the dress with the head of a lion from the Schiaparelli collection?
