Sports minister says athletes can get deferment from mobilization

Russian athletes may receive a deferment from mobilization, but they will call on everyone as much as possible. This was announced by the Minister of Sports Oleg Matitsyn during the forum “Russia – Sports Power”.
“Athletes are maximally mobilized. Sports cannot be singled out as a refined community that can enjoy privileges. Our athletes are patriots who supported the president,” the head of the department noted.
Matitsyn noted that sport solves the same problems as the state, so there will be no exclusivity in this area, but protection measures will remain, perhaps there will be some kind of delay. Despite the current situation, according to Matitsyn, the sport will continue to develop.
