The builders in the Stavropol Territory completed a real super-task. In record time, they managed to overhaul the correctional school No. 17 in Svetlograd.

Pupils of the special school were able to start classes in the new academic year in the renovated walls of their native educational institution. The school was included in the federal capital renovation program.

“We had a super task: to do a huge amount of work in just a few months of vacation, because our special school has no alternative nearby, and children must continue their education,” said Nikolai Tregubov, director of the State Educational Institution “Special Correctional General Education Internet School No. 17”.

The school is designed for 250 students. Since the beginning of May, work has started here in the educational and dormitory buildings, as well as in the gym and workshops, where older children with disabilities learn the basics of working professions.

The buildings are old, built in the 70s. Almost everything had to be changed during the repair: the craftsmen updated the roof and facade, replaced engineering communications. Heating, electricity, plumbing and sewerage had to be reconstructed. In the rooms themselves, wooden floors were opened and replaced with a new coating, tiles were replaced in the bathrooms, and the walls were re-plastered. In addition, the school yard was improved and an anti-terrorist protection system was installed. New lighting appeared near the school, a modern safe fence was installed, and a burglar alarm was installed in the building itself.
