The Russian auto company Sollers Auto, working in partnership with Mazda and Ford, has developed a plan for a car plant for the production of other brands. At the moment, the company is discussing the buyout of Mazda’s share and the cessation of auto production in Vladivostok.

“Sollers Auto PJSC is indeed discussing with Mazda the issue of stopping car production in Vladivostok and buying out Mazda’s share in the joint venture by Sollers. At the same time, Sollers Auto has already developed a plan to restart the plant for the production of cars of other brands and is currently finalizing negotiations on this issue, ”the press service said (quote from “Interfax”).

Sollers Auto has joint ventures in Russia with Ford Motor Company and Mazda Motor Corporation. In Vladivostok, together with Mazda, the company has been producing cars since 2012, including the Mazda CX-9 SUV, the Mazda CX-5 crossover and the Mazda 6 sedan. In 2021, 29 thousand cars were produced.

In March, due to disruptions in the supply chain amid a special operation in Ukraine, Mazda suspended the supply of components to Russia.
