Slow life on Raa Atoll - Style - Kommersant

Forty minutes from the capital on a plane of the Maldivian company Trans Maldivian Airlines - and you are on the Raa Atoll in the new five-star resort Emerald Faarufushi Resort & Spa of the Italian chain The Emerald Collection, which opened in October last year. This is the second complex of the chain in the Maldives, the first was Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa. Both are part of The Leading Hotels of the World, a collection of carefully selected premium hotels and resorts around the world.

Emerald Faarufushi Resort & Spa is more intimate than its predecessor. The resort consists of 80 water and land villas, 70 of which are with a pool. The complex is surrounded by tropical greenery, and its own lagoon with uncompromising blue water and a natural coral reef of 100 hectares pacifies and relaxes.

In general, everything on the island is arranged so that you let go of control and completely relax, and immediately. Each villa is assigned a butler, which is designed to take care of all issues, and a special application that can be installed on your phone will not only allow you to very quickly explore all the possible resources of the island, but also book a restaurant, spa and other resort activities. You can move around the island traditionally: either by bike, or by calling a local taxi - buggy, or on foot (you can get around the island in 15 minutes).

The resort adheres to the Deluxe All Inclusive concept, which means that the price includes both an entertainment program and non-motorized water sports, as well as access to five restaurants and a la carte bars, where two types of French champagne are already waiting for you at breakfast, and in the afternoon - an extensive wine list and a first-class sommelier. In addition to this - a whole map of cocktails, they will be brought directly to the beach, or to the pool. The iconic “floating breakfast” of Maldivian luxury holidays, served in your pool in the villa, as well as private picnics on a separate island, where you will be taken on a Maldivian dhoni boat, are practiced.

Emerald Faarufushi Resort & Spa provides everything for an active and relaxing holiday: tennis and padel courts, a sports club with professional equipment, the opportunity to practice yoga and meditation. For complete relaxation, there is a spa center with Balinese-style architecture. For little travelers, the hotel provides a Dolphin Kids Club.

The Emerald Collection is committed to having as little impact on the environment as possible. It has completely abandoned the use of plastic, is implementing initiatives to restore coral reefs, and has also installed its own desalination and bottling system right on the island.
