Senator Pushkov said that the world is fighting for the civilizational code of mankind

Russia is rich enough to create its own system of values and not follow the false idols of the West. This idea was expressed by Alexei Pushkov, Chairman of the Federation Council Commission on Information Policy and Interaction with the Media, at the site of the international forum of the Russian Military Historical Society “History for the Future. To the 100th anniversary of the USSR. The senator is sure that now the world is fighting for the future of mankind, and Russia in this battle acts as an independent center of power.

Russia does not need to take someone as a model, Senator Pushkov is sure. On the contrary, other countries, both Western and the countries of the "developing world", took the Soviet system of education as a model.

- When we launched Sputnik in 1957, to the surprise of the Americans, who considered themselves technologically superior to us, there was a speech by John F. Kennedy, who said that the victory in space was won by the Soviet school of education. The Americans then came and watched how our school was built, the transition from school to higher education, the senator recalled.

Alexey Pushkov expressed confidence that Russia is rich enough in civilization to generate its own system of criteria and respond to emerging challenges. At the same time, according to the senator, the situation in the US and Europe is not going well: monuments are being destroyed, history is being revised, and new false idols are being created.

Pushkov stressed that there are now several independent centers in the world that carry a deep civilizational, historical and cultural experience. And Russia is one of these centers.

- Europe is now losing its civilizational identity and independence, submitting to the American globalized model and doing everything to dissolve in the globalized world - from migration policy to the policy of cultural and dominant ideology. I think that in 50 years we will not be able to talk about Europe as a civilizational phenomenon, Pushkov predicted.

In the eternal dispute of historians about “where the Russian state came from”, a basic consensus is needed, the senator believes:

- This question can be left to historians, but for a basic understanding, the following consensus can be established: the Russian kingdom, the Russian Empire, the USSR and modern Russia are different forms of existence of one nation. We must agree with this, because in the 1990s we heard all the time that Russia is a young state, it is 5-6 years old, and we are starting anew. In the spirit of 1917, let us renounce the old world, shake off its ashes from our feet, and join the world civilization. It was a misleading definition. There is no world civilization, there is a Western civilization that is trying to make itself world. That's exactly where we went with the known result. We tried to fit in there in various forms - we don’t fit in. Shake off the ashes of Victory in World War II offer us? Ashes of space conquest?

The senator lamented that the people who came to power in the 90s went into the "world civilization" with the idea of denying the history, culture and identity of Russia. Pushkov recalled that even in the history textbooks the description of the Battle of El Alamein in North Africa (Greatest British victory in World War II MK") was given much more space than the Battle of Kursk. Now Russia is making a colossal turn towards its historical identity, Pushkov is sure. On this path, our country has to face serious challenges.

- Our confrontation with the West is not just geopolitics and economics. It is a question of whose civilization will prevail. China is also waiting for the outcome. He supports us, but sees in whose favor it all ends. Now there is a fight for the future and the civilizational code of mankind,” said the chairman of the Federation Council commission on information policy and interaction with the media.

In addition, the senator gave an answer to the question that was previously raised by the chairman of the RVIO Vladimir Medinsky: is it possible to revive the USSR? And, most importantly, should it be done? According to Alexei Pushkov, this is impossible and unnecessary. Mainly due to the fact that nationalism has become the main ideology of the countries of the post-Soviet space. In some countries, primarily in Ukraine, it has taken ultra-radical forms. In other countries, we see a moderate format. At the same time, the senator believes that the ideology of nationalism is a stage that countries must go through in order to understand their place in the international system of coordinates.

Instead of the idea of the revival of the USSR, a new theme is now emerging - integration and building a common space for Russia and those states that want to be together with our country.

- It is necessary to strengthen and strengthen this integration, including with the help of history, culture, language, political processes and military-technical cooperation. This common space certainly has a future. The USSR gave an example of the harmonious existence of different peoples. There were no ethnic conflicts, and if there were, they were settled quickly and bloodlessly. Therefore, the USSR is not an accidental formation, it tried to embody the idea of internationalism, - Alexey Pushkov stressed.
