Security forces conduct searches in Pskov and Perm because of the case of the Telegram channel of a resident of Ivanovo

Early in the morning of October 5, the Pskov police came to the home of the municipal deputy of the Zavelichenskaya volost from Yabloko, Nikolai Kuzmin. This was reported to Kommersant by his lawyer Tatyana Martynova. According to information project "Network freedoms", investigative actions are carried out in the framework of a criminal case under Art. 280.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public discrediting of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation). Such a case is initiated as a result of a repeated violation of Art. 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation).

Searches at the home of Mr. Kuzmin, as well as journalist Denis Kamalyagin (individual-media-foreign agent), who left Russia, activist Ekaterina Novikova (all three are from Pskov) and in the Pskov creative space Step were agreed upon by the Frunzensky District Court of the city of Ivanovo. The search is also taking place at the residence of Permian Vitaly Kovin (recognized as a foreign agent), who is the coordinator of the local branch of the Golos movement (recognized as a foreign agent). Case under Art. 280.3 was initiated by local investigators because of the posts on the Telegram channel of local activist Mikhail Gusev, “Diary of an Emigrant.” The court considered that three residents of Pskov and a resident of Perm may be involved in the maintenance of this channel, which at the time of publication has 73 subscribers.

The reason for initiating the case was the publication in the "Emigrant's Diary" dated August 9 (this is the last entry in the channel), where Mikhail Gusev writes that a criminal case was opened against him on draft evasion for military service (Article 328 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). He writes that he does not want to join the army, which he described as "occupation".
