Scandal in the British House of Commons: women’s toilet suddenly became gender-neutral

The British tabloid Daily Mail reported that during a refurbishment over the summer holidays, the historic “ladies” sign on the door of the women’s lavatory in the British House of Commons was replaced without notice with a gender-indeterminate one. The ladies members of Parliament were furious.
The progressive sign has been removed and the traditional plaque has been put back in place. An investigation has been launched to determine how it turned out that without serious approval, the remake appeared in a building listed as a cultural heritage.
But this was not the end of the matter. The cross-factional group of ladies-parliamentarians intends to dig deeper. They are going to apply in writing to the chairman of the chamber not only to find out whether the new index was properly agreed upon, but also why the issue of expanding access to the premises was not discussed with an interested group of deputies.
As recalled by the publication, in July the British government decided to abandon gender-neutral restrooms in public places. Supporters and opponents of this decision are preparing to fight.
