Committee of the Saratov Regional Duma on Housing, Construction and Communal Policy approved proposed by the prosecutor of the region Sergey Filipenko amendments to regional legislation on the provision of residential premises in the region.

As reported in the Legislative Assembly, the amendments to the legislation will exclude the possibility of deregistration of large families, whose adult children take part in a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine.

The current law states that housing under a social tenancy agreement from the state housing fund can be provided to large families whose income is below the subsistence level, as well as families in which children have reached the age of majority, but their age does not exceed 23 years and they study in educational organizations full-time uniform or are doing military service on conscription. The draft states that the lack of a mention in the law of mobilized, volunteers and contract soldiers involved in the SVO “may lead to cases of removal from the housing register” of such families.

If the law is adopted, its effect will be extended to legal relations that arose from February 24, 2022.
