The Japanese armed forces can deliver missile strikes against bases on the territory of a potential enemy not only in case of direct aggression, but also in the event of an attack on an allied country. This issue is now being worked out in preparation for the revision of the main documents in the field of security, according to the Sankei Shimbun.

According to the publication, the government is actively discussing this issue. Currently, Japan has one full-fledged military ally – the United States. A similar system of defense cooperation is being formalized with Australia.
