"Sakhalinskiye Sharks" beat HC "AKM-Junior" on the road in the second

The day before, on January 24, the Sakhalin Sharks played their next match in the away series. The rival was the AKM-Junior team from Tula, which the Sakhalin team had won in the fight with the score 4:2. The new match turned out to be much more spectacular and brought the Sharks a repeat of the club record for the number of wins in a row. This was reported in the press service of the island hockey club.

The islanders made minor changes to the squad - defender Alexander Kokarev missed the game, Ilya Koval returned to the squad. Player combinations have changed a bit. But AKM-Junior received a noticeable increase - the Tula team involved goalkeeper Ilya Kanarsky, one of the most reliable goalkeepers in the MHL and a participant in the 2022 Challenge Cup.

Interestingly, the first to upset him was the teammate of the West in the MHL Challenge Cup, Alexander Morozov. First, the hosts' goalkeeper received a penalty for tripping and the first majority was converted by the best MHL sniper. For Alexander Morozov, this goal was the 29th of the season.

The first period, in general, turned out to be equal. Both the hosts and the guests had dangerous moments - 13 shots were made for each goalkeeper. Unlike the first game between the teams, the Sharks went into the break with a lead. However, already in the first minute of the new period, they missed it - Andrey Vasev scored an early goal.

Sakhalin hockey players seized the initiative in the game and created moment by moment. This resulted in two goals - first, Ruslan Tyutyunnikov immediately flew into a foreign zone and, after a spectacular combination, again brought the Sharks forward. And before the break, Anton Danilov increased the gap with his goal.

The start of the third period was Ruslan Tyutyunnikov's benefit performance - at first he repeated his goal from the previous game segment, sending goalkeeper Ilya Kanarsky to rest. And then he corrected the stick under the throw of Pavel Kolotygin and upset the second goalkeeper of AKM-Junior Kirill Zarubin. This hat-trick was the first in Ruslan Tyutyunnikov's career and the first of the season for the Sakhalin Sharks. In total, this is the fifth hat-trick in the entire history of the Sakhalin Sharks - previously only Vladimir Lukachik, Georgy Vilchinsky, Yegor Mozgalev and Danil Pivchulin managed to achieve such an achievement.

It took AKM-Junior only six seconds to close the gap - Daniil Schepeitskikh won the face-off and made an independent run to the gates of Sakhalin. A few minutes later, Timofey Barsukov scored his goal and again increased the advantage to four goals. The game went to a perfect victory for the Sakhalin Sharks. Until the most nervous of the possible endings.

A few minutes before the siren, the Sharks, who had not received a single penalty for the entire match, began to catch violations one after another. Pavel Kolotygin's two-minute penalty became a trifle when compared with a stabbing blow from Ilya Koval (5 + 20 minutes of a penalty) and a knee from Rashid Dashtemirov (5 minutes of a penalty). The last 44 seconds of the third period, the "Sakhalin Sharks" finished the game in three, and the ending became a local disaster for them.

Andrei Vasev in 10 seconds reduced the gap to three goals, Ivan Larionov played another goal in 22 seconds, and after another 6 seconds he left only one puck from a comfortable gap. Only 6 seconds left to finish the game, but AKM-Junior took a timeout, replaced the goalkeeper with the sixth field player and continued the game in the 6x3 format. The last seconds of the "Sharks" survived and with incredible intrigue in the end they still won - 6:5.

The Sakhalin team extended their winning streak to six matches, repeating the club record set at the beginning of this season. The Sharks will try to set a new height in games with the most difficult opponent for themselves - the Mikhailov Academy team.

New games in Tula will be held on January 27 and 28. Matches start at 19:00 and 17:00 Moscow time (3:00 and 1:00 local time), respectively. Both matches will be shown live on the official YouTube channel of the MHL.
