The head of the administration of Ryazan, Elena Sorokina, will leave her post on May 29. She reported this in her Telegram-channel. Mrs. Sorokina did not specify the reason for leaving. At the next meeting of the city duma, Vitaly Artemov, the first deputy head of the city administration, will be offered the position of acting mayor of Ryazan.
“On Monday, May 29, the last day of my work as head of the administration of the city of Ryazan. It wasn’t just a job. It was a very important part of my life… In my future work, I will do my best for the benefit of the development of the region,” Ms. Sorokina wrote.
In her message, Elena Sorokina expressed her gratitude to the employees of the Ryazan mayor’s office, the regional government, organizations and companies, as well as “caring people of Ryazan.” “We went through difficult times together: we survived covid, emergencies, fires and much more,” she concluded.
The Governor of the Ryazan Region, Pavel Malkov, specified that Mrs. Sorokina wrote a letter of resignation today, May 26. Vitaly Artemov is the former mayor of Ryazan. He served as head of administration in 2010-2014.
