The Russian budget for 2023-2025 will be in deficit throughout the entire period, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said. Next year, revenues will amount to 26 trillion 130 billion rubles, which is “significantly more” than in 2020, but less than in 2021. Expenses will amount to 29 trillion 56 billion rubles.

“During the entire period, the budget will be in deficit, the main source of its coverage will be government borrowing,” Mr. Mishustin said at the meeting. His words leads government press office.

The prime minister said earlier that the federal budget for 2023 was drawn up with a deficit of 2.9 trillion rubles, or 2% of GDP. President Vladimir Putin declaredthat the deficit may be less than the level laid down in the project. According to him, by 2024 the figure should drop to 0.7% of GDP.
