Russian woman who visited Uzbekistan 10 years later spoke about changes in the country

A Russian travel blogger who visited Uzbekistan 10 years ago and came back to the country again admired the country's originality and beauty, which she called "frozen history".

She shared her impressions in her personal blog “Traveling with a camera” on the platform “Yandex.Zen".

The author noted that she noticed two main changes that have occurred since 2012. Thus, the black market for currency exchange almost completely disappeared in the country.

In addition, from 2022, tourists in Uzbekistan are allowed to stay without registration for no more than two weeks - you can apply for it in hotels.

Speaking about the cities, the Russian woman noted that Bukhara has not changed much in 10 years. At the same time, she saw small changes in Samarkand. So there are no more fountains on Registan Square, instead of paving stones they put marble. In addition, multi-colored illumination appeared, and the entrance was paid.

“It is not for nothing that they say that Uzbekistan is a frozen history. Everything is changing rapidly in the world, but here the architecture remains just as beautiful, the food is delicious, and the people are sincere,” the author concluded.
