Russian Foreign Ministry: discussion of an agreement on relations with Japan is impossible

Nikolai Nozdrev, director of the third Asian department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said that it was impossible to discuss an agreement on relations with Japan, which takes an unfriendly position.
According to him, earlier the Russian side had been negotiating with Tokyo on a comprehensive document defining the main directions for the accelerated development of the complex of Russian-Japanese relations.
“At the moment, it is impossible to discuss this agreement with a country that takes an unfriendly position. Among other things, Japan is now seeking to harm Russia’s interests,” Nozdrev noted.
