More than 100 leading companies presented their expositions: the latest models of machinery and equipment, advanced scientific developments and the best breeds of farm animals, promising investments in the regions.

The exhibition was visited by Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin, who got acquainted with the achievements of the agricultural industry, presented state awards to agricultural workers, and also spoke at the plenary session “Food Security in Russia and the World.”

The prime minister noted that state support for small and medium-sized businesses in the countryside would continue, promised to promptly respond to the needs of the agro-industrial complex, and stressed that import substitution is only an important, but not the only step. Russian agrarians are united not only by the all-round support of their undertakings by the government, but also by the common struggle against sanctions. Inside the country, the food rear is strong. However, hidden and open sanctions hinder the development of export potential. At the same time, the prime minister is sure that it is necessary to use all available transport corridors for this: “Export potential – South Asia, China, logistics, transport issues provide a potentially huge opportunity for export. All logistical routes now provide completely unique opportunities. For the third year, Russia sells more than it imports. And in eight months, the volume of deliveries abroad, even in difficult conditions, has grown. The record grain harvest also sets the mood for optimism. We are still among the top five grain exporting countries. And the first – for wheat. We are the fourth largest meat producer in the world and the fifth largest vegetable oil exporter.”

Milk and dairy products occupy an important place in the diet of Russians of all ages. After tasting plenty of delicious cheeses, kefir, fermented baked milk and other delicacies, we go to the Animal Husbandry Pavilion, where cows of the industrial Holstein breed, grown at the Avrora plant in the Vologda region, majestically chew hay. This breed of cows has high productivity, one animal gives almost 14 thousand kg of milk per year. Breeding characteristics, as well as information about each cow, are controlled using a domestic information system. Now dairy cattle breeding is one of the priority areas for the development of the agro-industrial complex. Thanks to the support of the government of the Russian Federation, farmers were able to increase the volume of milk production. In 2022, its volume is planned to be about 32.5 million tons.

The Russian agro-industrial exhibition “Golden Autumn” is the main business event in the Russian agro-industrial complex. The largest agricultural forum has been held annually by the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia since 1999. The exhibition traditionally demonstrates the best achievements of the agro-industrial complex, including in the field of crop production, animal husbandry, agricultural engineering, agricultural science, ensuring food security, building export potential, and digitalization. Its implementation helps to strengthen interregional economic ties, improve the business climate in the agro-industrial complex, and technical and technological modernization of the industry.

As part of the Golden Autumn, a rich business program is planned: forums, round tables, panel discussions dedicated to the most relevant industry topics. They will be attended by heads of federal executive bodies, members of the government, the State Duma, the Federation Council and heads of agro-industrial corporations, banks, and insurance companies. The Golden Autumn business program already on the first day set its participants up for the most serious conversation about food security in Russia and the world. At a time when the whole world is talking about the global food crisis, it is food and the ability to produce and export food that become the measure of national well-being. The Russians, as Golden Autumn demonstrates, will not remain hungry!
