Russia is counting on the help of friendly countries in the issue of microprocessor production. This was stated by the Director General of the Competence Center for Import Substitution in the field of ICT Ilya Massukh.

He noted that it is rather difficult to create a domestic microprocessor industry, therefore, in this matter, Russia relies on the help of friendly states.

At the same time, Massukh stressed that at some stage Russia will still have to start producing its own chips.

Earlier it became known that the Russian company “Baikal Electronics” canceled the production and sale of domestic server processors Baikal-S.

This was the result of the refusal of the Taiwanese manufacturer TSMC to enter into new contracts with the Russian side.
