Russia began moving non-strategic nuclear weapons to Belarus

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said on Channel One that Russia had begun moving non-strategic nuclear weapons to prepared storage sites in the country.

Mr. Lukashenko said that on May 25, Russian President Vladimir Putin informed him of the signing of a decree “on actions to deploy nuclear weapons in Belarus.”

“A decision was made in the development of what was said orally. We had to prepare storage areas and so on. We did it, so the movement of nuclear weapons has already begun, ”said the President of Belarus (quoted by TASS).

Vladimir Putin informed on the decision to deploy non-strategic nuclear weapons in Belarus on 25 March. On May 25, Defense Ministers of Russia and Belarus Sergei Shoigu and Viktor Khrenin signed documents defining the procedure for keeping such weapons in special storage facilities outside of Belarus.
