Rospotrebnadzor: coronavirus incidence increased by 33% over the week

Rospotrebnadzor declared on its official website that in a week the incidence of coronavirus in the country increased by 33%, and SARS – by 11%.

In just a week, 60,000 new cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Russia. The predominant type of COVID-19 is genovariants of the Omicron strain.

According to the source, there are currently more than 231,000 SARS-CoV-2 genomic sequences in the national VGARus database. It is known that they were obtained through whole genome and fragment sequencing.

Meanwhile, the total number of cases of influenza and SARS has reached one million people. Influenza viruses are the most common disease, and more than 65% of infections occur with group B viruses.
