Roskosmos announced the entry into orbit of the meteorological satellite Electro-L

The weather satellite "Electro-L", launched this afternoon from Baikonur by the carrier "Proton-M", was launched into orbit, reported in the Telegram channel of the state corporation Roscosmos.

The state corporation clarified that the launch of the fourth meteorological satellite took place in the normal mode.

“Features of Elektro-L satellites make it possible to receive independent weather data from the Earth’s orbit every 15-30 minutes – this not only improves the quality and efficiency of weather forecasts, but also solves global issues of monitoring climate and changes, issues storm and emergency messages when emergency situations are detected ”, – stated in the message of Roskosmos.

February 5 at 12:12 Moscow time from Baikonur started the Proton-M launch vehicle with the DM-03 upper stage and the Electro-L weather satellite No. 4 - this was the first Russian launch in 2023. Roscosmos specified that the launch vehicle worked normally, the upper stage separated from the third stage rockets and now brings the satellite into a given orbit.
