Rosatom reported a shortage of engineers and IT specialists

"Rosatom» is looking for scientists, engineers, IT specialists and environmentalists. Tatyana Terentyeva, Deputy General Director for Personnel of the State Corporation, told about this writes TASS.

“According to our estimates, to solve the tasks set by the state for Rosatom and to implement all the large-scale plans we have conceived, at least 6,000 engineers of a new formation will be required. A large number of scientists are needed <...> We need people in such areas as information security, artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality,” said Terentyeva.

According to the profile of IT-specialists in the corporation, according to a representative of Rosatom, about 25,000 people work, and by 2030 it is planned to hire more than 30,000 such workers.

Terentyeva also spoke about the need for environmentalists, as now “the greening of the market is underway,” where technologies should “first of all be environmentally friendly.” “Until 2024, more than 2,500 people will be needed in this direction, as we develop new businesses. These are workers of various qualifications for solving specific production tasks, such as the construction of ecotechnoparks, waste processing plants and other facilities,” she said.

March 9 Chairman of the Board of Sberbank German Gref toldthat the bank faced the problem of shortage of IT-specialists. According to him, this happened because of the “so-called middles or seniors, that is, people who have a higher qualification” who left. At the same time, according to Gref, mainly junior specialists are returning to the country, due to which problems with a shortage of qualified workers will be present "for some time."

About the lack of IT employees declared in the Ministry of Internal Affairs a year ago. Deputy Interior Minister Igor Zubov reported in June 2022 that Russia lacks about 170,000 programmers. Zubov then recalled that now IT companies are given significant preferences in the field of taxes, including other mandatory payments.
