"Red Square" -2023: from Lukyanenko to Russian manga

[ad_1]

The 9th Red Square Book Festival opens today – the most democratic and most visited book fair in the capital. Traditionally, about 400 Russian publishing houses, including those from the regions, take part in it. Unlike other fairs, there is no entrance ticket here, tents and stalls are located in the open air on the square – only a small part of the events captures the neighboring GUM.

The fair reflects key publishing trends, and the program of the current Red Square shows that comics are turning into a profitable and therefore increasingly respectable segment of the market. In turn, Young Adult does not lose ground – new authors come, new series are launched. Interest is also growing in children’s literature, which is increasingly being used by “adult” authors.
