Putin submitted draft laws on the annexation of new territories to the State Duma
Russian President Vladimir Putin submitted to the State Duma draft constitutional laws on the admission of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions into the country. This is reported by TASS with reference to the Committee of the lower house on state construction and legislation.
"Four draft federal constitutional laws on the entry of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions into the Russian Federation were submitted to the State Duma by the President of the Russian Federation," the press service of the committee said.
Also President appointed Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation and State Building Andrey Klishas (United Russia) and Chairman of the State Duma Committee on State Building and Legislation Pavel Krasheninnikov (United Russia) as their official representatives when the Federal Assembly considers draft constitutional laws on the adoption of four new regions.
State Duma will consider drafts on the ratification of treaties on new territories on October 3, said the chairman of the lower house, Vyacheslav Volodin.
Earlier today, October 2, the Constitutional Court acknowledged the constitutionality of treaties on new territories that have not entered into force.
