Putin presented awards to young cultural figures and authors of works for children

The head of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin presented presidential awards for works for children and youth, as well as awards for young cultural figures, reported in the press service of the Kremlin. The ceremony was traditionally held on the eve of the Cultural Worker’s Day (celebrated on March 25).

The winners of the Youth Awards for 2022 are theater director Aidar Zabbarov, sculptor Ekaterina Pilnikova, ballet dancer, and director of the Sevastopol Opera and Ballet Theater under construction Sergei Polunin.

Prizes for works for children and youth were awarded to the leaders of the Joy dance ensembles (Sevastopol, Murmansk) Viktor Gotsulenko and Larisa Feoktistova, actor and director Alexander Galibin, musicologist, director and writer Inessa Kovalevskaya.

“We can talk a lot about each of today’s laureates. But no words can say more about you than your work, your contribution to national culture, to the development of Russian society, to the formation of young generations,” Mr. Putin addressed the laureates.

Messrs. Polunin and Galibin, as well as Ms. Kovalevskaya, did not appear at the official ceremony in the Kremlin. “Polunin has the premiere of the play tonight. Galibin took part in the tercentenary of Perm, and Kovalevskaya is 90 years old, doctors did not allow her to go out, ”Vladimir Tolstoy, presidential adviser on culture, explained to RIA Novosti.

Prizes of the President of the Russian Federation in the field of literature and art for works for children and youth have been awarded since 2013. Prizes of the President of the Russian Federation for young cultural figures – since 2011. The latter, among others, was awarded to opera singer Venera Gimadieva, actress Yulia Peresild, jazzman Vladislav Lavrik and others.
