Russian President Vladimir Putin decided to establish a medal “For Courage”. The relevant decree published on the official Internet portal of legal information.
“The medal “For Courage” is awarded to citizens of the Russian Federation for bravery and courage shown in the course of combat and other operations to protect the Fatherland and state interests of the Russian Federation, as well as to maintain or restore international peace and security,” follows from the provision of the decree on medals.
The text of the document also says that not only Russians, but also foreigners and stateless persons can be awarded the medal “For Courage”. It follows from the provision that the medal has two degrees: I and II. The awarding of the medal “For Bravery” can be made posthumously, follows from the document. The medal is worn on the left side of the chest and is located after the medal “For Courage”.
In the summer of 2022, the Russian Guard established commemorative medal “Participant of a special military operation.” The medal can be received by military personnel, persons who are or have served in the National Guard, as well as those who contributed to the fulfillment of tasks during the special operation. The award will also be given to civil servants and employees of departments.
