Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decreeaccording to which the day of fulfilling the tasks of protecting the border of Russia with the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics (DNR and LNR) and Ukraine is equal to two.
count military personnel of the Federal Security Service, performing the tasks of protecting the state border in areas adjacent to the area of the military operation in the DPR, LPR and Ukraine, in the length of service for the appointment of a pension on preferential terms:
- one day of protection of the state border in these areas in two days;
- the time of treatment for injuries received during the protection of the state border in these areas, at the rate of one month of military service for two months.
The decree comes into force from the date of signing and applies to legal relations from February 24, 2022.
Earlier, Vladimir Putin signed amendments to the law “On Veterans”. Now the border guards who “performed the tasks of repelling an armed invasion” in the territories adjacent to Ukraine, the DPR and the LPR will receive the status of combat veterans. They will also be able to claim the status of combat invalids in case of injury.
