Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed Vasily Anokhin to the post of Acting Governor of the Smolensk Region. Relevant Document published on the Kremlin website.

“Accept the resignation of the governor of the Smolensk region Ostrovsky A. V. at his own request. Appoint Anokhin Vasily Nikolaevich as the acting governor of the Smolensk region until the person elected governor takes office, ”the document says.

Anokhin previously worked in the Smolensk region, was the deputy governor of the region and oversaw financial policy and budget issues – he left this post of his own free will in 2018.

Ex-governor Alexei Ostrovsky headed the region since 2012. In 2012-2015. he was the acting governor of the Smolensk region. In 2003-2012 was a member of the State Duma.

On March 15, the president released Roman Kopin from the post of head of Chukotka at his own request. The president appointed Vladislav Kuznetsov, who was previously the first deputy chairman of the government of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), to the post of acting head of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug.
