Pushilin: until the complete liberation of Maryinka, there was only one section in the western part

Until the complete liberation of Marinka in the DPR, it remains to take control of one section in the west of the city, said Denis Pushilin, acting head of the republic.

“As for the Maryinka direction: quite fierce battles continue, in the western part there is a small, probably a section of Maryinka itself, so that we can already fully say that Maryinka has been liberated,” told Pushilin on the TV channel “Russia 24”.

According to him, Ukrainian troops are still “resisting” and continue to transfer reserves, and the West, in turn, is “pushing” Kyiv to start a counteroffensive.

Pushilin reported on January 11 that Maryinka was almost under the control of the Russian Armed Forces. Her complete release is hampered by the fact that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are entrenched in the residential sector on the outskirts of the settlement, he said then.

Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. During the special operation, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia, and on October 19 martial law was introduced in the regions.
