Analysts at Promsvyazbank (PSB) reported a significant drop in Russian gas supplies to EU countries over the past 12 months.

As noted in Telegram channel PSB Analytics, in February 2023, the volume of blue fuel supplies from Russia to the EU fell by 59.5% compared to the previous year.

March 5 European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen statedthat the EU has completely overcome dependence on Russian gas and oil. According to her, 80% of Russian gas exports were fully compensated by supplies from the United States and Norway.

Eurostat reported that from August 2022 to January 2023, gas consumption in Europe fell by 19% compared to the average for the same period in the last five years.
