Protests against partial mobilization were held in large cities of Russia

In Moscow, St. Petersburg and other cities, a few unauthorized actions against partial mobilization were suppressed by the security forces. The Interior Ministry has not yet commented on the situation. The OVD-info project (recognized as a foreign agent) estimated the total number of detainees in the country at 684 people (data as of 18:48 Moscow time).
According to OVD-info, there were protests in 28 cities. The largest shares were in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk.
In Moscow, those who disagreed with the mobilization went to Chistye Prudy, Pokrovka and Maroseyka streets, to the Zaryadye park. In the capital, the number of detainees, according to OVD-Info, amounted to 346 people. A Kommersant correspondent who worked for the action said that the police may have detained not only active participants in the protests, but also passers-by.
In St. Petersburg, activists gathered on Palace Square and Nevsky Prospekt. During the arrests, the police used special equipment – stun guns. The total number of detainees in the city, according to unofficial data, is 125 people.
In Novosibirsk, people gathered at the Opera House on Lenin Square. In total, about 70 people were detained.
September 21, on the day the mobilization was announced, the actions were held in 38 cities. Then it was reported about more than 1.3 thousand detainees. The police spoke about a small number of citizens who came to the rally.
