The faction of the Yabloko party in the Moscow City Duma appealed to Moscow Prosecutor Denis Popov demanding “a thorough check of the facts of violence against civil activists.” The authors of the appeal are referring to reports of beatings of Artyom Kamardin, Alexandra Popova and Alexander Menyukov during a search in the case of inciting hatred (Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). After the searches, the activists’ lawyer told Kommersant that one of his clients was raped with a sports dumbbell during a procedural procedure. On Tuesday, members of the public monitoring commission (POC) of Moscow visited the victim in the temporary detention center, who disagreed in assessing the details of the incident.
