Pony Express will raise tariffs by 20% – Kommersant
By the end of the year, the logistics operator Pony Express will again raise prices for its services - this time by 20%, the company’s general director Marya Dey told Kommersant in an interview. The last time, she said, prices increased was in November 2023.
“We can no longer restrain the growth of staff salaries,” Marya Dey told Kommersant.
Over the past year, the company's couriers' salaries alone have increased by 37%, says Ms. Day. According to her, the pressure on business from rising wages continues to remain high. At the same time, offering salaries above the market “does not always work,” says Marya Dey. For example, she said, the company has already tried to offer packagers payments 10% above the market, but this “doesn’t help much.” The fact is that due to the personnel shortage in the country, candidates have become very demanding of the brand and the job itself, having the opportunity to choose from many offers.
The company's pricing policy is being put under pressure by the shortage of warehouses. The current vacancy of warehouse capacity is 0.3%, and the available space in terms of its throughput is used at 96%, notes Marya Dey. This, she said, affects the speed of order processing. Pony Express is no longer able to rent new facilities in Moscow due to the lack of supply of free space, she notes.
