Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN, said that France made a scandal at a meeting of the UN Security Council on explosions on the Nord Stream gas pipelines. According to him, the delegation of this country did not allow the official representative of “Gazprom” Sergey Kupriyanov to make comments.

In his Telegram channel, he wrote that the scandal was caused by the permanent representative of France, Nicolas de Rivière. Polyansky believes that the diplomat lost his temper “because of the unconvincing criticism of the Western camp” regarding Russia’s approaches. As a result, in violation of any norms and practices of the Security Council, he did not allow the press secretary of Gazprom, who was invited to the event as a speaker, to answer “incorrect accusations against this company.”

At the same time, France, as Polyansky recalled in his Telegram-channel, at all stages called for dialogue, but “as it came to the point, everything came down to a banal attempt to shut the speaker’s mouth.” According to Polyansky, the participants in the meeting did not expect the Russian Federation to talk about obvious and indisputable facts, and also ask to “turn on your head” and “think logically.”

Earlier, German Interior Minister Nancy Feser announced plans for the three countries – Germany, Denmark and Sweden – to create a joint investigation team to investigate the terrorist attacks on the Nord Stream.

Meanwhile, the Permanent Representative of Norway to the UN, Mona Juul, said that the incident on the three strings of the Nord Stream system is a “targeted sabotage” carried out with the aim of “intimidating Europe.”
