Austrian politician Gerald Grosch said that European countries are not ready to transfer their own economy to a military footing for the sake of Ukraine.
According to him, for the social system in Europe, the path to a war economy would have fatal consequences.
“At the moment, the situation in the EU countries is tense even without it. The economy is in serious trouble. Among other things, various eco-activists and the Greens are calling for the de-industrialization of the continent,” said Grosh.
He clarified that wealthy citizens of European countries do not want to sacrifice their former well-being for the sake of the war economy. In particular, they are not ready to make sacrifices for the sake of a war in which they are not to blame.
