The transition of Poland’s energy to alternative sources will take place gradually. In the future, the development of nuclear energy, as well as wind turbines and solar power plants, is expected. This was announced by the head of the board of Poland’s largest energy concern PKN Orlen, Daniel Obaitek, in an interview with Gazeta Polska Codziennie.

“Today we want to get as much energy as possible from alternative sources. We are planning the development of offshore wind farms in the Baltic, we are starting the construction of small nuclear reactors, we are investing in solar panels,” Obaitek said.

In addition, he stressed that there should be exactly “evolution, not revolution” when the Polish energy sector will switch to alternative sources.

Obaitek also noted that by 2050 Poland intends to create environmentally friendly fuel.
