Piotrovsky reappointed Director General of the Hermitage – News – Culture – Kommersant

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin extended powers of the General Director of the Hermitage Museum Mikhail Piotrovsky. The powers of Mr. Piotrovsky were confirmed for three years; he took the post of director of the museum in 1992.

Mikhail Piotrovsky began his work at the Hermitage in 1991 as Deputy Director for Research. Mr. Piotrovsky, among other things, is an academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences and a member of the Presidential Council for Culture and Art.

Among the awards that Mikhail Piotrovsky has received are the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, 4th, 3rd and 2nd class. In 2017, Mr. Piotrovsky became a laureate of the state award in the field of literature and art.
