Peskov urged not to exaggerate the importance of Mozart PMC in Ukraine

The Kremlin is unaware of any significant role for the American private military company (PMC) Mozart in Ukraine, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. He asked not to exaggerate the importance of this group.

“I honestly do not propose to exaggerate the importance of such a PMC. We are not aware of any significant role played by a PMC with that name,” the spokesman told reporters.

The Mozart Group is a private military company founded by Andrew Milburn, an ex-colonel in the US Marine Corps. The group was engaged in the training of the Ukrainian military, consisting of 30 volunteers from Western countries, the PMC said. On February 1, Milburn wrote on his Instagram (the social network is owned by Meta, a recognized extremist organization and banned in the Russian Federation) that the company was ending its operations in Ukraine.
