Armenia, of course, will remain in the CSTO, despite the fact that not all issues have been agreed upon, said Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian President.

“Definitely will stay” answered Peskov to the relevant question (quoted by TASS). According to him, the event once again confirmed the relevance of this format, as well as the relevance and viability of the CSTO.

The Kremlin representative added that the leaders of the countries discussed the issue of extending the peacekeeping mission in Armenia, as well as the fate of the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan. “Not everything has yet been agreed upon, there are certain nuances,” the spokesman concluded, adding that this topic is “on the agenda.”

Earlier today, the CSTO Collective Security Council agreed on a draft decision on measures to provide assistance to Armenia. It was noted that the efforts of the republic and other participants to peacefully resolve the situation, legalize borders and unblock transport communications play a positive role.

At the same time, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan refused sign the draft declaration. He explained that out of 17 prepared final documents, two were sent for revision. “We ended our meeting in narrow format. 17 draft decisions were submitted. On 15 we have a consensus. Two projects have been sent for revision,” he added.

In early November, Pashinyan announced that Yerevan was in favor of creating a three-kilometer demilitarized zone around Nagorno-Karabakh. This, according to him, will allow the unrecognized Karabakh Republic to refuse to maintain an army of such a magnitude, which it now needs “only because of the danger of being subjected to genocide” by Azerbaijan.
