Peskov refused to comment on the closure of borders amid partial mobilization

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov refused to answer the question about the possible closure of borders for citizens subject to partial mobilization. According to him, clarifications on this matter will come later.

“I cannot answer this question now. You know that there are different provisions on this subject in the current law, so let’s have a little patience, clarifications will follow on this matter,” said Mr. Peskov.

Formerly Russian Railways and Aeroflot refuted information that companies have stopped selling train and plane tickets to men of military age without a certificate from the military registration and enlistment office.

Today, September 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced about partial mobilization in the country. The Ministry of Defense reported that 300 thousand reservists are subject to conscription. Mobilization may primarily affect soldiers, foremen and ensigns up to 35 years old and junior officers up to 45 years old, declared Andrey Kartapolov, head of the State Duma Defense Committee. He also noted that additional restrictions on the exit from the country of citizens subject to mobilization will not be established.
