On September 16, the Meduza publication (recognized as a foreign media agent), citing its sources, reported that the head of the Accounts Chamber, Alexei Kudrin, asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to join the Yandex board of directors. The head of state allegedly approved this request. Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov denied Meduza’s report and said the Kremlin no longer reads the publication.

“No, it wasn’t, it wasn’t. We don’t read Meduza anymore,” Peskov said during today’s press call.

On Mr. Kudrin’s alleged plans to move to Yandex Meduza informed back in June. Then this information was refuted by the company, explaining that Yandex’s contacts with Mr. Kudrin were limited to consultative working meetings.
