Reports of plans to call up 1.2 million Russian citizens for military service as part of partial mobilization are lies. This was stated by press secretary Dmitry Peskov, transmits TASS.

The agency correspondent asked the Kremlin representative if the information about plans to call up 1.2 million Russian citizens is the same fake as the data on the mobilization of 1 million Russians that appeared the day before.

“Yes, even more so,” Peskov answered the question.

The day before the press secretary refuted publications in a number of media about the plans of the Russian authorities to mobilize 1 million Russians. “This is a lie,” he stressed.

Also today Peskov urged of Russians to be critical of publications on social networks, since there are a huge number of false messages on the Internet. According to him, if in the early days the “hysterical reaction” of some residents to the announcement of partial mobilization was understandable, now there is no shortage of information. He pointed to the launched hotline 122 and specified that citizens can ask questions directly to the Ministry of Defense. According to Peskov, the department regularly answers incoming calls from Russians.

On September 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a partial mobilization in the country. He noted that the draft will affect citizens who are in the reserve, as well as those who served in the Armed Forces and have certain military specialties and relevant experience. In total, it is planned to mobilize 300,000 people.

Earlier today became known specialists who are not subject to mobilization. Thus, the call will not affect employees of the IT sector, telecom operators, the media and banks. Previously reportedthat employees of defense enterprises, citizens who are unfit for health reasons, breadwinners of large families, etc. will be able to receive a deferment from military service.
