Russians support the decisions made by Russian President Vladimir Putin, as evidenced by social polls and election results. This statement was made by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov.
“People are really consolidated around the decisions that the head of state makes. As for other points of view, critical points of view, as long as they remain within the framework of the current legislation, this is pluralism, but the line is very, very thin. You have to be very careful here,” the Kremlin spokesman said.
Thus, Peskov commented on the critical statements of the authors of popular Telegram channels due to the withdrawal of Russian troops to the territory of the DPR. Journalists asked the press secretary if publications on Telegram could influence the opinion of Russian citizens. In response, Peskov noted that public opinion reacts sharply and emotionally to the news about the special operation.
On the eve of the Sands declaredthat the results of the last elections of the heads of Russian regions can also be viewed as a cross section of public opinion on the conduct of a special operation in Ukraine.
On August 12, VTsIOM published the results of a survey among Russians on the level of trust in Russian President Vladimir Putin. He made up 81.3%. The study also notes that 78.3% of Russians approve of the activities of the Russian leader. Earlier, VTsIOM presented the results of a survey on the support of Russians for a special operation in Ukraine. According to the study, in August, an average of 70% of respondents answered that they would rather support the decision to conduct a special operation. At the same time, 18% assess this step negatively.
