Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya came to a meeting of the Security Council of the world organization, when President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky had already started speaking via video link, reported “RIA News”.

The footage released by the agency shows how Nebenzya, sitting in his seat, began preparing to participate in the meeting, when Zelensky’s speech via video link had already begun.

Own performance at the Security Council, Nebenzya began by calling again for Zelensky’s full-time participation in meetings.

“This is required by the rules that have been governing the work of the Security Council for more than 75 years. Moreover, Mr. Zelensky does not seem to be participating in the meeting. We apparently heard his next video message,” he said.

Nebenzya also named Russian strikes on Ukrainian targets are a response to the supply of Western weapons to the country, as well as calls from Kyiv to defeat Moscow. The permanent representative stressed that one of the goals of the special operation is to undermine the combat capability of the Ukrainian army, which threatens the security and territorial integrity of Russia. According to him, this goal will be achieved by military means until “until the Kyiv regime takes a realistic position that would allow, in the framework of negotiations, to discuss and try to resolve those issues that forced” Russia to launch a special operation.
