Patrushev announced the ongoing preparation of the West for an armed conflict with Russia

The West continues to prepare for an open armed clash with Russia, said Nikolai Patrushev, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation (SB), during his speech at the 17th meeting of the secretaries of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

“The events around Ukraine show that Westerners are trying to balance on the verge between hybrid actions and an open armed conflict with our country, for which they do not stop preparing,” Patrushev said (quote according to TASS).

The Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation noted that this provision has already been officially enshrined in the adopted doctrinal documents at the NATO summit in Madrid. At the moment, he added, the Americans are trying to carry out the same actions against China. As an example, Patrushev recalled the provocation with Nancy Pelosi’s flight to Taiwan.

“Washington and its regional allies, primarily London, are promoting projects beneficial to an exceptionally narrow group of countries to expand existing and create new military blocs in various regions of the world,” he said.

In addition, the Secretary of the Security Council stressed that now a hybrid war has been launched against Russia, and the special operation launched by the Russian Federation in Ukraine is only used as a pretext “to unleash an unprecedented global anti-Russian campaign.”

The meeting of the secretaries of the SCO member states is held on the eve of the meeting of the leaders of the member countries on September 15-16, which will be held in Samarkand.
