From January 27, the owner of the Russian assets of Otis, the diversified holding S8 Capital, will produce elevators under the Meteor brand. The Russian legal entity was renamed at Meteor Lift on December 23, 2022. This was reported to journalists by the CEO of the new Russian legal entity of the company Igor Mayorov.

Mr. Mayorov added that the company’s subdivisions in the Moscow region of MOS OTIS JSC and Shcherbinka OTIS Lift CJSC are now in the process of renaming. According to him, the name “Meteor” was chosen from 400 options.

As noted “RIA News”at the Meteor Lift plant in St. Petersburg, three types of elevators are produced: 2000R (renamed Meteor Classic), Gen2 (Meteor Evo) and the Gen2 Extended Duty (Meteor Evo Grand) increased load capacity model.

In March, Otis Worldwide Corporation suspended investments in Russian business and taking orders from Russia due to the entry of Russian troops into Ukraine. In July, the parent company informed on the sale of assets in Russia to the S8 Capital holding, which is owned by Armen Sargsyan. According to Kommersant, the deal could amount to 3 billion rubles.
