In the drafts of Freddie Mercury found the original title of the song Bohemian rhapsody

The famous composition of the rock band Queen Bohemian rhapsody, as it turned out, was originally called Mongolian rhapsody. SkyNews TV reported that the crossed-out version of the name can be seen in Freddie Mercury’s drafts put up for auction by the auction house Sotheby’s.

The text was sketched in pencil on the letterhead of a British airline. The calendar for 1974 is printed on this sheet, and it is known that the song was recorded at the studio in August 1975. The single, lasting about six minutes, topped the British charts, becoming the hallmark of the band.

On the draft, reference to the Mongols can only be seen in the original title. It is not repeated on the page in the future and is not explained in any way.

The auctioned price for 15 song sketch pages is £1.2m ($1.5m). The auction, where Sotheby’s intends to sell more than 1.5 thousand of Mercury’s personal belongings, will take place on September 6.
